Samurai is the stage name for the performing rap artist, producer, song writer, and engineer known as Arion C Rogers. Born on May 1, 1980 Arion was raised on the southside of Chicago, IL. Arion developed talent at a young age learning the piano at 7, the B flat Clarinet at 10, writing his first poem and composing his first music composition at 17. Arion performed his first song in 2000 at a open mic hip hop poetry Gospel set at Apostolic Church of God on 63rd and Dorchester. Later in that same year he performed for the alderman of Hyde Park at Washington Park. In 2001 he began doing shows for a small time talent show at the fine arts theater Down Town Chicago. He also performed for an African Expo at the Legacy Theater in 2002.
